New BMW M1: photos, videos, technical specifications, and priceAfter much suspense, BMW has officially unveiled the images, details, and specs of the new and awaited BMW M1 sporting coupe. The inspiration of the new BMW 1 M series was the first BMW M3, and, thus, in the words of BMW, it embodies the spirit of unmistakable sportsmanship of the series M.





Of course, the new BMW 1 M series features all elements of a sports car, such as bi-xenon headlights (with LED eyebrows), enlarged wheel boxes that frame the beautiful 19-wheeled wheels. Only three colors will be available: Alpine white, black metallic sapphire, and orange metallic Valance.



The interior comes equipped with sports benches coated in Boston leather and Alcantara. There is also a new cluster of instruments, new steering wheel with leather seam in orange. Among the optional equipment, we have dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, Harman Kardon audio sound system, BMW ConnectedDrive (with Internet access) and GPS navigation with an 8.8-inch screen.



As expected, the engine of the new BMW M1 is a twin-turbo 3.0 L with six cylinders in line with 335 horsepower, associated with a manual only six-speed transmission box. Result: 0-100 km in 4.9 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 17.3 seconds and maximum speed electronically limited to 250 km. The average fuel consumption is at 10.41 km/L.


One of BMW's concerns was to make sure his bolide BMW M1 behaves like a real BMW. For this, engineering installed an aluminum suspension with a front axle of double pivo; The rear has five connecting points.


Despite being marketed as a "pure" sports car, the BMW M1 comes equipped with a lot of technology: DSC (Dynamic speed control), ABS brakes, anti-slip control (ASC),
Dynamic braking control (DBC), braking control on (CBC). In the event that all these systems fail, the central computer triggers, in an emergency, the braking system automatically.


The new BMW M1 will be presented at the North American International Auto Show, and the price estimate in Germany is €50,500 Euros, which amounts to just over R $115,000.00 (December 2010).
